Jane's curse---part2

Guilin was a such wonderful place that Jane hoped to live there for one or a half year in the future when she becomes richer. The small town is like a park. There are rives, lakes and mountains everywhere. There is flower's smell in the air. The meeting was good. Jane planed to try a new tech when she comes back.

She even found the love came back to them. During these years concentrating on hard-working, Jane had never thought whether her husband and she had still loved each other. But now they were dreaming of owing a small house with a lovely garden. They will become green fingers working in the garden and will be surrounded by a cat, a dog and a child.

However, the photo call from Jane's brother in low woke up their dream. Before their travel, they asked him to sleep in the workshop to guard the little manufactory. But now he told them that the computer was stolen yesterday in the evening. He had a good sleep and did not hear anything.

Jane's were dashing to the train station. After 20 hours, they came back. The policemen had arrived but hadn't found any clue. Their helpers---two boys and one girl wanted their wages and they didn't want to work here anymore. Jane said it was not the time to pay wages. But they all had good excuses. Jane required them to stay and help her to overcome the hurdlers. But they all refused.

Then Jane's life seemed return to the start. She printed by herself and her husband helped her. She felt confused why God had treated her like that! She also didn't understand how thieves can know that there is an expansive computer in a such small and unnoted place.

It is a small town. After a half year Jane knew her 3 ex-workers had began the same business as hers. The girl married with Sean, who once was a student. Jane regretted that she so patiently taught them the method which she herself paid tuition and learned from the printing training school. She paid them wages and taught them craft free but now they grew up as her competitors.

One day Jane's husband told her when he delivered the goods to their client he found Sean also offered goods to this client. The letter style on their goods is the rare one, just as same as Jane's. Jane knew the company had only sold this letter style to her in this town. So Jane called that company and the company told her that they hadn't sold this letter style to others. Hence Jane was sure the young guys had stolen her computer.

The policemen soon caught them and gave the computer back to Jane. The detectives told Jane Sean admitted he committed the crime himself. So the other two were innocent.

Jane was happy to see the computer coming back. It was the most expensive thing she had ever had at that time. And it was all made by her sweat.

Several months passed Jane met Sean near her another client's office. Jane wondered why he can come out of jail so soon. According to the low he at least should stay in jail for 2 years. He must done something secretly. Later Jane found Sean tried to connect with all her clients. Jane had just remembered when Sean worked in her workplace, he asked Jane to let him prepare his examinations in her small office, because the other rooms were too noisy. And Jane agreed. Sean must have copied her telephone notebook! Jane was so angry that she said "you should go to hell." in her heart. Jane was also raring to fight with him if she were strong enough. Later she was calm but she sometimes still said to God to let Sean go to hell.

Months passed. One day Jane found Sean was on the person wanted advertisement. He had disappeared for 5 days. His wife took out this AD. In the afternoon the detectives went to Jane's office. The Sean's wife offered a list of people who may do something bad for her husband. Jane is on the number 1. The detectives left after having asked some questions. Jane was shocked.

Yes, more than one time, Jane cursed this young man to death. But she didn't do anything. She only wanted some punishments on him. But who does this? Her peaceful husband? No!...

Days later in the afternoon a tax collector visited Jane. After finishing all the tax process, he asked if Jane knew a young men named Sean, who did the same business as Jane's.

Jane said, "Yes, I know him. He once worked here ."

"I took charge in his tax before. I have just come back from his funeral. He was killed by 3 men. The police arrested 2, one is still in large. Sean had done some business and had some conflicting with them and may owe them some money. They cheated him to a far away house and beat him to death. Poor his parents! They raised him twenties years, supported him through his college and gave him all his saving to start the business. He was killed now. He is less then 25."

Jane felt a little released. She and her husband were totally innocents now. But she could not move. She will not curse anyone in all her life.

what a tragedy but enjoy ur story

Hello, I do like your blogs Jenny; they are very exciting and I am always looking forward to the next blog. I just listened to your telephone interview; you were great with your ideas and expressions. I find the advice of the using the MP3, a great one. I guess it is a great idea especially when someone is busy doing other things. I love your stories though sometimes, when the blog is long, I lose track. But I get the whole picture. It has always been in my mind for a reason or another that Chinese people usually have lots of stories to tell. Simply because of their rich culture and history. I bet that Meg is happy to have such a great storyteller mother. Teacher Lewis's comments and expressions are so much easy to follow and benefit from. So thank you both!

Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
