Forest Green 0-2 Chester

Forest Green's dismal start to the season continued as they crashed to their fifth consecutive defeat, a loss to an impressive Chester side at the Lawn.

Two first-half goals from Mark Beesley sealed the win as Nigel Spink's men still seek their first points of the season.

After an indifferent start to the game, unbeaten Chester started to assert their authority.

The visitors carved out a number of good chances including a fantastic 18-yard strike from Steve Brodie which hit the woodwork after 23 minutes.

And it was no surprise when Mark Wright's men opened the scoring on the half-hour mark.

Rovers midfielder Martin Foster was adjudged to have handled the ball and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot.

Beesley fired home the penalty and worse was to come for Nigel Spink's men as the striker added his second goal of the game just before the interval.

A delightful ball from Michael Twiss found the in-form marksman, who curled an 18-yard strike past Perrin to leave Forest Green's supporters reeling.

It was much the same after the break as City reduced Rovers to speculative long-range efforts.

Neil Grayson had Forest Green's best chance of the game but Wayne Brown was equal to it in the Chester goal as Wright's men gained an easy win.
