| Saturday, 31 August, 2002, 16:40 GMT 17:40 UK Kettering 0-1 Yeovil Terry Skiverton scored a late goal as Yeovil - outplayed for large chunks of the match - took all three points at Rockingham Road. Kettering looked to be controlling the game as they went in search of their first win of the season. But a minute into stoppage time they were caught out when Skiverton rose to head home Lee Johnson's cross. Yeovil began well and could have forged ahead as early as the second minute when striker Carl Alford's powerful volley forced goalkeeper Ian Bowling into a fine save. But gradually Kettering started to dominate the game and after Gez Murphy had flashed a long-range effort wide, Scott Goodwin went close with a deft chip from the edge of the area. Having seized the initiative, Kettering threatened again at the start of the second half and only a fine reaction save from Yeovil goalkeeper Chris Weale kept his side level when he dived full length to hold Murphy's left-foot drive. But having prevented Kettering from scoring, Yeovil took all the points with Skiverton's late goal. Kettering: Bowling, Matthews, Haran, Norman, Hughes, Butcher, Goodwin, Small, Inman, Murphy, Town. Subs: Ward, Murray, Diuk, Watkins, Perkins. Yeovil: Weale, Lockwood, Skiverton, Tonkin, Williams, Way, Johnson, McIndoe, Alford, Crittenden, Demba. Subs: Pluck, Sheffield, O'Brien, Grant, Forinton.
