Two goals from striker Simon Yeo helped Lincoln to a 3-0 home success against Macclesfield.

The forward, plucked from non-league football in the summer, broke the deadlock in the 41st minute when he pounced to score from close range after Town keeper Steve Wilson could only push out an effort from Simon Weaver.

The Imps increased their lead six minutes after the break when the visitors defence failed to clear a long throw and Scott Willis fired home at the far post.

The Silkmen brought on three substitutes and switched to a three-man attack, but the nearest they came to pulling a goal back was when Chris Byrne saw his header saved by Lincoln goalkeeper Alan Marriott.

Yeo completed the scoring seven minutes from the end when he ran at the Macclesfield defence before finishing with a fierce effort into the roof of the net.
