High-flying Hartlepool made sure pre-season promotion favourites Hull are still looking for their first win under Jan Molby as they recorded a victory in a one-sided game at Victoria Park.

The home side totally dominated the first 45 minutes, but all they had to show for it was a 31st-minute goal from Eifion Williams - his first of the season.

Fellow striker Gordon Watson crossed from the left and Williams scrambled his second attempt home from close range after the first had been saved by keeper Matt Glennon.

Pools' second goal after 63 minutes was similar, Watson bundling the ball into the net after Glennon had stopped a Darrell Clarke header from Paul Smith's cross.
