GFA looks for new island manager

Steve Ogier
Steve Ogier quit as Guernsey boss last month to take the Guernsey Utd job

The Guernsey FA has begun looking for a new senior island manager.

Steve Ogier quit last month after agreeing to take charge of the proposed Guernsey United team which is aiming to enter the Kent Premier League.

In 2009 the Guernsey senior side will play a three-team tournament at Easter as well as the Muratti in May and the Island Games in Aland in the summer.

The successful applicant has also been given free league weekends to get his squad together for training sessions.

The GFA say they are also trying to see find out which players are available for the Island Games which run from the 26 June to 4 July next year.

Guernsey did not enter a football team in Rhodes last year, but reached the final in Shetland in 2005 where they lost to the hosts in a dramatic match.
