Guernsey squash player Chris Simpson has failed to make it through to the World Championships. The island's former national under-19 champion lost in the second round of the qualifying event in Manchester at the weekend. He lost to Ireland's Liam Kenny in the second round of the event to see his dreams ended for another year. "I was 2-1 up and dominating but I lost my length and went down in the fourth and fifth," he told BBC Guernsey. Simpson, who is ranked 64 in the world, had hoped to beat the Irishman, who is close to getting into the top 50. "He's ranked 51 in the world, which is a little bit above me, but I felt like my squash was better. "It's just a few bad decisions, at the wrong times, on the crucial points, that made me not take the match in the end."
