Guernsey squash player Chris Simpson is in confident mood ahead of the weekend's World Squash Championship qualifier in Manchester. The world number 64 recently lost to Chris Ryder in the last eight of the Leinster Open in Dublin last week, but says the match has given him a boost. "I know I played really good squash and got myself in a winning situation," he told BBC Guernsey. "I'm happy with because he's a good player and number 33 in the world." Simpson, who represented the island at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, is a former British under-19s champion. "Physically it was a every good test for me, the toughest match I've had for a long time," he said.
