York batsman Dan Wilson can become the first player to make a century in four successive Yorkshire Premier League games against Doncaster on Saturday. "He'll definitely be looking for that fourth one to break the record," said Wilson's opening partner Duncan Snell. "He's got a great chance of doing it to be fair," he added. Since the league began only three players have achieved three successive centuries: Ian Dews of York, John Inglis of Harrogate and now Wilson. Meanwhile York are 21 points clear at the top, with second-placed Scarborough heading a group of eight teams with just seven points between them. | Having run Rotherham close before, we hope to turn around the result and beat them Harrogate skipper David Stiff |
"It's a tall order now," said Scarborough skipper Darren Harland on the possibility of catching York with nine games to play. "It's never say never, you've just got to concentrate on your own games and see where you go with it." Opening batsman Kunwar Bansil is back but Yorkshire's Craig White, who would have been available, is injured, while Harland has ruled out the availability of batsman Adam Lyth after his impressive knock of 132 for Yorkshire against Nottinghamshire. Bottom club Harrogate salvaged some pride with last week's tie against Sheffield United and skipper David Stiff hopes they can manage a second win of the season at Rotherham. "In the first half of the year we came very close [to beating them]," he said. "Especially after that game where we've run a team close, having run Rotherham close before, we hope to turn around the result and beat them," he added.
