York have moved to the top of the Yorkshire League after winning at title rivals Barnsley by eight runs on Saturday. After making 122 in their innings the visitors' bowlers managed to restrict Barnsley to 114. Nick Kay took 5-31 after top scoring in York's innings with 33 while Tom Bartram finished with figures of 4-37. The reigning champions are now level on points with Barnsley in the league table but they have lost fewer games. Meanwhile Scarborough have moved up to fourth place after beating Rotherham by 10 runs. An unbeaten 66 from Piet Rinke helped Scarborough to 214-7 while Rotherham were all out for 204 with Rinke taking 7-72. Harrogate are still bottom of the table after losing by 9 wickets to Cleethorpes.
