The 1992 European Championship in Sweden was a low point for France and England - and not only for tracksuit design.
France had arrived at the tournament unbeaten in three years but after two draws their 2-1 defeat by Denmark resulted in Michel Platini's highly fancied side failing to get out of their group.
England fared just as badly as Thomas Brolin scored the winner in Sweden's 2-1 victory to ensure Graham Taylor's side made an early exit.
England's departure left Gary Lineker one short of Bobby Charlton's record of 49 goals.
