Today sees the start of Adult Learners’ Week, is the largest annual celebration of adult learning in the UK. However, there has been a fall in participation.

Anonymity for teachers accused of abuse
Scotland’s first Commissioner for Children and Young People, has the job of promoting and safeguarding the rights of children and young people in Scotland. She is supporting calls from Scot’and’s teachers’ unions that teachers accused of abuse of children should have the right to remain anonymous until the allegations are fully investigated.

Research from the Department of Children, Schools and Families shows that more than one in four people regrets dropping a language at school, particularly Spanish and French. Ma Vida Loca, a new and exciting way for adults to learn Spanish online is launched today by the BBC Languages Unit.
