In the U.S. provision for gifted and talented children within the public school system has a 20 year history. Teachers can choose to train as specialist teachers for the gifted and talented programme. The Big Schools’ Birdwatch
School children are being urged to spend their time gazing out of the classroom window - with the blessing of their teacher - to take part in the survey. Running from 22 January to the 2 February, it encourages children and their teachers to look out for and count the birds that share their school environment. We talk to Ros Patching the RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch project manager and participating teacher Carol Champion from Tuckwood Primary School in Norwich.
