Steffan & Nicky

Adventurer Steffan is a Welsh translator and, since 2000, a councillor for a Welsh political party. He refers to himself as the 'Welsh Victor Meldrew' and, as a result of his latest complaints war (with a phone company), the family’s phone has been cut off. Steffan loves hosting impromptu music nights at the family home. He doesn’t think of himself as an adventurer (describing himself as 'hopeless' when it comes to the practical things in life), but he wants to make Nicky and his three kids proud by winning Prized Apart.

Studio player Nicky is also a fluent Welsh speaker and she and Steffan try to speak Welsh in front of their children as much as possible. Before she had children, Nicky worked as a professional actress for many years and has even been a fire-eater’s assistant. Nicky and Steffan have been married for 18 years and though she’s concerned about her husband’s lack of preparation for the series, Nicky’s sure that Steffan will do Barry Island proud.
