Jenna

Jenna doesn't want to be her employees' friend, she wants to be their boss and everyone is scared of getting on the wrong side of her. What they do not realise is that Jenna’s background is not as squeaky clean as she would have them believe.

Jenna grew up on a rough estate in Leeds with her younger sister Lizzie and her drug addicted mother. Everyone in the neighbourhood knew about the family’s problems and Jenna found herself having to become a mother to Lizzie when their own mother was too out of it to look after them.

When Jenna was just eight-years-old and Lizzie was five, things got even worse. Neighbours complained about the string of men that they saw leaving the house and the disheveled look of the girls. Social services had no option but to take both the girls away. The sisters were put into a foster home but Jenna proved to be problematic - regularly acting up and running away.

Within a year the foster family decided that they wanted to adopt Lizzie but they didn’t want Jenna, so she was moved to another family. But her behaviour didn’t change. Jenna was bounced around different homes until she eventually ended up in a care home. That’s when Jenna’s wall finally came up.

Jenna’s mother tried to get in contact at first but she always let them down and eventually the girls learned to shut her out and get on with their lives. Most people expected Jenna to go down the same path as her mother but to everyone’s surprise, she didn’t. Eventually she calmed down, and with the help of her social worker even managed to make it to university.

Although Lizzie was the lucky one who grew up in a loving family, she fell in with a bad crowd and started getting in trouble with the police. Jenna resents her for throwing away the opportunities she was so cruelly denied and has now distanced herself. She had to work hard for her new image. She finished university, got a great job and even got herself a great partner, Jake, who she’s been with for several years. They’re engaged but there’s one thing that would really help Jenna complete the picture… a baby. Jenna has been painfully trying to get pregnant for years and the strain of multiple failed IVF attempts is taking its toll on her relationship.

Although Jenna washed her hands of Lizzie she could't not help but come to her aid when she needed it...
