She keeps everything running smoothly but what most of her colleagues don’t realise is that her self-confidence has been shot to pieces after a string of failed relationships and many disappointments.

Holly grew up in a small town on the outskirts of Cardiff as an only child in a loving family. Her parents had Holly when they were young and when Holly was around ten years old, her mother had an affair causing her parents to divorce.

Her mum used the divorce as an excuse to make up for the years that she missed out on raising a child - she started dressing younger and her string of boyfriends got younger too, much to Holly’s embarrassment. Where her mum is brash and attention-seeking, Holly is the polar opposite. She’s meek, fairly quiet, sensible and lacks the vibrancy in her life that she so desperately craves. Although she’d hate to admit it, she’s secretly jealous of her mother’s ability to not give a damn.

As a teenager Holly always dreamed of having some kind of high-flying job but unfortunately she was never the brightest kid at school and she could never quite work out what she wanted to do. So she ended up getting a job as a PA at a recruitment company and found that she was really good at it. That’s when she met her ex-boyfriend Adam.

Holly couldn’t quite believe it when a drunken night out turned into her exchanging numbers with a gorgeous and successful man. They went on a date and instantly hit it off. Holly was besotted with him. She always thought that Adam was too good for her and couldn’t believe how great things were going. But then just over a year into their relationship Adam called things off. Holly was devastated and couldn’t work out why.

After months of crying over the end of her relationship, Holly’s work started being affected and she found herself more and more isolated at work. Gone were the fun night outs with the team, instead Holly spent lonely nights in front of the TV. That’s when she realised that she needed a fresh start so she got a job at Coopers. Holly threw herself into her work and proved to be a brilliant PA once again.

Now she has some friends at work and even caught the attention of hapless but sweet forklift truck driver Neil. Initially she wasn’t that enamoured by his advances but he was sweet and seemed to be really into her so she decided to give it a go. Although things are going well in work and love, Holly stills feels that her life is unfulfilled. But, like most of us she drifts along, pretty content with the normality of it all but always day dreaming about what might have been.
