Toke

He’s unconventional, funny and popular with all of his workmates. But beneath all the jokes and banter he’s a considerate and sensitive soul with a strong moral code.

Toke grew up in a small town in the South East. As a child Toke was always the center of attention, trying to make everyone laugh. His sister Jessica idolised him and he adored her just as much. But Toke’s life turned upside down when at the age of twenty-one Jessica, who was seventeen at the time was attacked by a gang of girls outside a local pub. As Jessica tried to get away one of the girls fatally stabbed her. Toke was devastated. And to make matters worse, the police never convicted the girls responsible.

A few years later and sick of the constant reminder of his sister’s death at home, Toke decided to move to Cardiff to start afresh. He got a job at Coopers as a warehouse picker and then managed to work his way up to warehouse manager. He even managed to buy his own house and land himself a girlfriend – Sal - who at first he thought was a bit too upmarket for him. But they get on and they’re happy for the most part, even though she wants to take their relationship to the next level but he’s not ready.

But Toke never stopped thinking about Jessica. Every time he went on a night out he’d find himself wanting to get involved if he saw some kind of trouble escalating and he got more angered by the crime stories he read in the local paper. So he decided that he had to do something and that’s when he set up The Raintown Superheroes.

The Raintown Superheroes are a crime fighting group comprising of Toke and two of his friends. They dress up as anonymous superheroes and patrol the streets helping out anyone who needs it. But no one else knows what Toke gets up to, not even his girlfriend.
