5 pop groups that will be back together before you know it

Being totally honest, we're still not quite over the One Direction split - no matter how good the Zayn and Niall solo music has been and no matter how excited we are about Liam and Harry planning their solo albums.

So it's just as well Niall has reassured us that a 1D reunion is just around the bend. It's a massive bend, but it's there.

It takes more than a few 'creative differences' to stop good pop, which is why we reckon we'll be seeing these five groups back in the charts before you know it.

*Wishful thinking may also have played a part in writing this article. FYI.

One Direction

Yes, it's happening. One Direction are getting back together.

Niall Horan confirmed that the world's biggest boyband would reunite, but understandably not for a year or two.

"We will be back. We would be silly not to. Ridiculous," he tells The Sunday People.

"At the moment we are all doing our own thing," he adds.

"Everyone is just chilling. I don’t think anyone needs to worry about us, we are fine."

Both Niall and Zayn have scored huge solo hits, while Harry and Liam are also working on solo albums.

Destiny's Child

What can Beyonce do to top the success of her Beyonce and Lemonade albums and her huge 2016 Formation tour? Well, how about a Destiny's Child album. That might work.

She's one of the biggest stars in the world, but fans are still hoping for a reunion with former bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for more new music as a group.

In October 2016 a new Instagram account for the group was set up, with fans going into meltdown over the prospect of a reunion.

They also shared a mannequin challenge together AND Kelly Rowland confirmed the trio had been having dinner dates together.

BRING. IT. ON.

JLS

Both Marvin Humes and Aston Merrygold have released music since JLS split in 2013, but neither has found the solo success they might have been hoping for.

The solution? Get the gang back together and Marvin has previously said that the four-piece have done just that.

He told The Daily Star the band "ended up in the studio together" after a night out in London with US record producer, Dallas Austin.

"It was weird being back in there together after so long," he said.

"I don’t know what will happen in the future as we are all focused on our individual projects but never say never."

No one from JLS has released music since February - although JB Gill did launch Sausage FM in October, so he may still be busy with his sausage commitments.

The Saturdays

Girls Aloud look unlikely to reunite, so if any British girl group is going to give Little Mix a run for their money at the top of the charts, it'll be The Saturdays.

Vanessa White and Mollie King have released solo music (all v.good, btw) and Una Healy is currently working on a solo album, while Rochelle is now a TV presenter and Frankie Bridge has been quiet since giving birth to two sons with footballer Wayne Bridge.

And it was Frankie who said fans could definitely expect to see more music from the girls.

"The lucky thing for us is that we are all still together, we are just taking a break, so we all will be back doing something," she told Bang Showbiz in late 2015.

"We’re not putting an end to anything! If anyone still wants us we’ll be there."

She also said to expect it before the end of 2016 - but that's not going to happen.

The Wanted

Nathan Sykes is carving out a nice little solo career for himself since The Wanted took a hiatus in 2014, but he's still open to reuniting with his former bandmates.

"If the boys are wanting to do music, it would be a conversation," he told The Sun newspaper - but insisted his solo work was currently his priority (obviously!).

They took a break after drifting apart with rumours of personal issues between the boys, but time (and brilliant pop music) is a great healer. Sort it out boys.
