आजचा विषय आहे instructions म्हणजे सूचना देणे. कुठेही जा आपल्याला काही न काही सूचना द्याव्या लागतातच. रिक्षावाल्याला रस्ता सांगताना, कोणाला काही शिकवताना, काही सांगताना, हो ना?

पण योग्य त्या सूचना देणं पण एक कला आहे. फिल काही सूचना देणार आहे आता. तो काय शिकवतोय बरं?

Take two slices of bread. Spread some butter on one side of both slices of bread. Next, grate some cheese and cover one slice with all the cheese, then put the other slice on top. Put the sandwich in a frying pan. Heat it on one side for two minutes, then flip it quickly and cook it on the other side for another two minutes. After that, enjoy!

सूचना देताना फिलने वेगवेगळी क्रियापद वापरली.  आता नीट एक एक सूचना ऐकू. त्याने कुठला काळ वापरला काही ध्यानात येतंय?

काय म्हणाला तो , आधी  'grate' करा म्हणजे किसा, मग  'cover' आच्छादणे, झाकून टाकणे आणि, मग  'put' म्हणजे ठेवा. ही क्रियापदाची आज्ञार्थी रूपे आहेत. त्यामूळे क्रियापदाच मूळ रूप वापरायचं, बस!

Exactly! And, after the verb, we usually have an object. So, for example, you 'grate' 'some cheese'. When we say these sentences, we stress the verbs and the nouns because these are the important parts of the instruction. Let's try that together, please repeat after me:

Grate some cheese.

Cover one slice with all the cheese.

Put the other slice on top.

Great! आता सूचनांचा क्रम सांगण्यासाठी फिल कुठले शब्द वापरतोय त्याकडे लक्ष द्या. फिल पुढची क्रिया सांगण्यासाठी वेगवेगळे शब्द वापरतोय. चला ऐकू.

Well done! आता सांगायचंय की 12 मिनिट अंडं उकळायंच. इथे उकळण्यासाठी cookवापरायचं आहे. 'Then' ने सुरू करा.
