Ruathar Aonair

Fáilte na peile romhat! Is mise Conall Ó Máirtín. As an Eaglais mé i gContae Thír Eoghain.

Is mise Bláithín Ní Mhurchú. Is as an Bábhún Buí i gContae an Chabháin mé. Inniu, an dóigh cheart leis an ruathar aonair a dhéanamh.

Leis an ruathar aonair, tá tú ábalta é a chleachtadh áit ar bith, fiú áit mar seo, istigh i lár na cathrach. Sa ruathar aonair, caithfidh tú lámh go bróg a dhéanamh nó an liathróid a phreabadh achan cheithre chéim.

Anois, seo muid! An lámh go bróg.
Ar dtús, cuimhnigh - lámh dheas, cos dheas; lámh chlé, cos chlé.
Sín do lámh agus an liathróid amach i dtreo do choise.
Lúb suas na méara coise i dtreo do choirp.
Anois, ná dean dearmad, lig don liathróid titim ar na lásaí.
Tagann an chos aníos leis an liathróid a chiceáil.
Ciceáil an liathróid isteach i do bhrollach.
Beir greim air leis an dá lámh …. isteach chuig an corp.

Maith go leor? Ar mhaith leat triail a bhaint as? Maith go leor? Maith thú, coinnigh ag dul. Anois, cuimhnigh, dhá lámh ar an liathróid. Ag an deireadh, isteach chuig do chorp. Sin é. Anois, siúlfaidh muid thart, ag déanamh lámh go bróg ar dtús. Maith go leor? Anois agus muid ag rith, seo muid, ceithre chéim arís idir achan lámh go bróg. Agus rachaidh muid ar ais arís.

Anois, an dara cuid den ruathar aonair. An phreab!
Cuir fuinneamh agus anam isteach sa phreab.
Coinnigh do bhos ar bharr na liathróide agus tú á preabadh síos.
Brúigh síos í láidir go leor le preabadh ar ais aníos go dtí do bhrollach.

Sin é. Ná déan dearmad, an bos ar bharr na liathróide gach uair. Maith thú! Anois, rithimis leis an liathróid. Tá sé agat. Spréite amach – na méara, greim maith ar an liathróid. Anois, bain triail as an phreab agus an lámh go bróg le chéile. Ach ní thig leat an liathróid a phreabadh dhá uair díreach i ndiaidh a chéile. An mbainfidh muid triail as? Ag siúl ar dtús. Anois!

Anois, bainfidh muid triail as agus muid ag rith. Maith go leor? Ar aghaidh linn!

Anois, tá rás ag dul a bheith againn leis an dá scil seo a chleachtadh . Simon, beidh tusa ag dul ar dtús, agus beidh tusa ag dul do lámh go bróg amháin, mar sin, i rith an ama. Ach a Bhrónach, beidh cead agatsa lámh go bróg agus ansin an liathróid a phreabadh. An bhfuil sibh réidh anois? I ndiaidh a trí. A haon, a dó, a trí! Maith thú, a Bhrónach, tá tú ag dul go maith! Ar aghaidh leat, Simon. Isteach chuig an deireadh, go hiontach. Maith sibh!

Solo

A big football welcome!! I’m Conall Martin. I’m from Eglish in County Tyrone.

I’m Blaithín Murphy - I’m from Bawnboy in County Cavan. Today, the correct way to do a solo run.

With the solo run, you can practise it anywhere, even in a place like this, in the middle of the city. In the solo, you have to toe-tap or bounce the ball every 4 steps.

Now, here we go! The toe-tap.
First of all, remember, right hand, right foot; left hand, left foot.
Extend your arm and the ball out towards your foot.
Turn the toes up towards your body.
Now, don’t forget, let the ball drop down onto the laces. The foot comes up to kick the ball.
Kick the ball up into your chest.
Catch the ball with both hands into the body.

Okay? Would you like to have a go? Alright! Well done, keep it up. Now, remember, two hands on the ball. And finally, into the body. That’s it. Now, we’ll walk around, doing the toe-tap first of all. Okay? Now while running, here we go, four steps again between each hand-to-toe. And we’ll go back again.

Now, the second element of the solo run. The bounce!
Put force and effort into the bounce.
Keep your palm on top of the ball as you bounce it down.
Push it down with enough power to get the ball back up into your chest.

That’s it. Don’t forget, the palm on top of the ball every time. Well done! Now, let’s run with the ball. You’ve got it. Spread out – the fingers, a good grip on the ball.

Now, try the bounce and the toe-tap together. But you aren’t allowed to bounce the ball twice in succession. Will we try it? Walking, first. Now we’ll try it while running. Okay? Away we go! Now, we’re going to have a race to practise both skills. Simon, you’ll be going first and you’ll be doing the toe-tap only, like that, all the time. But Bronagh, you’ll be allowed to toe-tap and then bounce the ball. Are you ready now! After three. One, two, three! Good, Bronagh, you’re doing well! Up to the end, wonderful. Keep going, Simon. Well done both of you!
