The Rani was the kind of criminal who gives scientists a bad name! Blinkered, immoral but arguably only bordering on evil, she genuinely believed her work justified the deaths of anything and anyone involved in her research. Her twisted experiments plunged whole planets into war and when she kidnapped the Sixth Doctor her brutal method of capturing the TARDIS necessitated his regeneration. She may have been one of Gallifrey's most sartorially stylish genii but her cunning and disregard for life ensured she was a dangerous adversary.
The Rani appeared in The Mark of the Rani and Time and the Rani.
