We must be of the same hair-type B Jillyball. I've just tamed my mop with the aid of straighteners - I dread it when it rains as all my hours of taming go out of the window, so to speak!



It wouldn't be so bad if I could leave it in the hope that it looked halfway decent when I get up, but it just looks a mess so I have to wash it again and go around with a wet look for a few hours and then give in to the straighteners again.

I love curly hair too, but mine isn't curly enough! It looks ok when washed and left to dry on its own but looks like a disshevelled birds' nest in the morning and needs washing again to look halfway decent.

Managed to stay dry on my dog walk, so no 'Monica do' just yet! lol



J-Ennis it is a pain isn't it? My hair is naturally very curly but just has a mind of its own. For a change, every now and then, I straighten it and when I go for my 6 weekly colour and trim I always get the hairdresser to straighten it. She does it so well and I feel all neat for a while! lol



Harry, what are you missing? I hope your hair drying shenanigans earlier didn't produce the same result as Shona mentioned! LOL

Afternoon all, nose has been to the grindstone today, so no time to play until now.



Lovely to see some long-lost poppets pooping by, as well as the regulars.



On the 'amount of time to tame hair' front I have the ultimate low-maintenance style - a short back and sides, in effect. I don't have a hair-dryer or brush, just give it a dry with a towel and I'm ready to go.



The teenage Masters from Eastleigh, however, are a different story entirely - hairdryers, straighteners, enough products to stock a branch of B**ts. In fact Eldest Master from Eastleigh managed to pack all his clothes into a holdall for his holiday last year, and then had to upsize to a suitcase when he added in his hair-care.



Planning to do something with sweet potatoes, red peppers (maybe I bought too many as they're a bit of a theme) and something meaty on the BBQ.

Hair talk, the male perspective (from a 'certain' age group)



I went for a hair cut the other day. This is the last time I shall refer to such activity as 'going for a haircut'. Henceforth , it shall be referred to as grooming, or even 'male' grooming. There was a time when the barber, as he was back then, would offer such styles as the basin cut, short back and sides, or just a trim, or a bit off all over. Those days are gone, and that is no bad thing on the whole. If you are still young. These days, a trip to the male groomer can verge on the embarrassing. This started, for me, about five years ago, when to my horror, I was asked if I wanted my eyebrows trimming. I was dumbstruck, but I didn't realise that this was just the start of a slippery slope. Each time I returned to be shorn, the same question. 'Eyebrows?' I now look back on those as the good old days. As time passed the question was dropped, but the eyebrows were trimmed anyway, as this now seemed to be the norm.

This week, I slipped a bit further down the slope, when the 'Hair Artiste' (not my phrase) took out a razor, and carefully shaved my earlobes. I was crushed. Where, just exactly where, does this slope end up? And do they teach apprentice hair stylists to be on the lookout for erroneous hairs in unlikely places, in order to humiliate we middle aged? Perhaps it is all a plan brought about in this age of austerity, whereby we are to be charged per hair.



Slightly curly hair, you say? Pah! ;0)

Look how well camouflaged this duck and her two babies were this afternoon when I snapped this picture! The mummy duck spent ages drying her wings then they all got back into the water for a swim!

#85 JEW - when I got in from work last night I noticed that we had a baby hedgehog scurrying around our garden- I assume it was a baby as it was very small and very inquisitive!

The rain has been torrential overnight - it must be August.

Mrs cBzz and I went to see The Angels' Share last night and we thought it was superb. Whisky Galore, mixed with Trainspotting, The Usual Suspects and Restless Natives.

Hope you liked the sunshine I sent over from the Ionian Sea last week. ;-)



I can see there is lots to catch up on.



Yesterday, tragedy hit the chicken population here *cover your ears PSL and Alex_girl*. One horrible scrawny, low life fox had Monty, Eggwina Cilla and Delia. It was very sad to see just a pile of feathers left. Monty & Eggwina were beautiful phoenix bantams, having lived 10 years...so a good innings for them. I hope the fox is having trouble digesting them, I expect their meat was rather tough.



However, Honey has somehow survived and has now decided to take up residence with the pony. Her equine bodyguard!



My suggestion for today's theme?

I wonder how the name of the film was decided on, seeing as the 'angels' share' is said to be the amount of whisky taken by the angels from evaporation as it matures.

Nadia common madchick, as a person who loves hens, cockerels and cute feathery creatues, I am so sorry you have lost some of yours. Friends of ours have quite a few hens and ducks along from their stables over our side wall - some are like little old ladies with long aprons almost down to their feet and I sometimes 'chase' them a bit as they waddle when they run and whenever I'm along the lane beside them, I often take pics of them and the ducks and they are so photogenic... here's one I took a few days ago.
