Must say there have been some good shows this week, with interesting themes. I particularly enjoyed the “Songs of Praise” theme , I was not surprised that my selection of the live version of “Amazing Grace” by Aretha Franklin was not played as it not exactly radio friendly at over 11 minutes long ! Saying that I would recommend the Amazing Grace album to anyone as one of not only the best gospel of all to time, but just as a great album, and that recommendation comes from someone who is not in the least religious !

They are off to Cuba in a couple of weeks which he has just been given the all clear to go as he's not long finished his chemo for thyroid cancer. So they are both really looking forward to the break :)

Cannot believe it is really going to be BBQ weather on the 1st of October!!!! We're having a nothing much planned, chilled and relaxing weekend... with the exception of an extremely tense 90 minutes on Sunday when the Mister and my teams go head to head trying to best each other for the pride of North London... it'll probably end in tears, tantrums and hurtled sausages and that is just on the pitch!



My ARFO is a fave of 'im indoors .. so this is my 'being nice' phase before the war begins in earnest!

Firstly, thank you for the mensh and playing of the really-rather-lovely-but-ever-so-slightly-depressing Every Day is Like Sunday by Morrissey. But it sounded better than ever in the sunshine. And, errrr, I suppose, well, thanks also for the, ahem, mensh and playing of, say-it-in-a-quiet-voice-so-nobody-hears, Winchester Cathedral by the much-underrated New Vaudeville Band. A little bit of coincidental whimsy comes in handy every once in a while, and may even do you good. And as Billie said last night, it did dovetail rather well. Not sure Dr Mösh agreed though.



I have a rather fine ARFO crown - the summer straw version , akin to a panama - which I am more than happy to pass on to a fellow blogger at 5.05 (unless anybody's still watching Crackerjack). I see an orderly queue is already being formed. So no suggestion from me - I shall wait with dignity and pride for the new incumbent.

Its the word I used to describe the way the otters were moving across the road when I saw them on my way back from work back in erm, erm... oh yes March 9th of this year. When all things new were just appearing and we had the long hot summer stretching out in front of us. Who would have thought that we would have to wait 7 months for the best of it to materialize?



So yes LOLLOP it is.



Ps, just sat in a bed of nettles, I dont recommend it. Dont try this at home or anywhere else for that matter.

Thanks MTF, all appears to be under control now. Plan to leave work at 2.30 so I can sit down for a bit and take breath. And drink coffee outside with my pal ;-). Although, as I'm sure most of you will realise, I do actually thrive on this and am really looking forward to living and working in foreign parts. Shouldn't be any reason why I can't continue to participate on the blog and listen to the show on t'internet.
