I can't believe I'm going to miss Philip Oakey and the League on tonight's show - I have a long standing (much, much needed!) appointment to get my moptop sorted so will have to listen again. The Human League - my era and Dare is still one of my favourite ever albums of all time ever! (although I will always be a Durannie .....!)



Saw Elbow in concert at the NIA last night. To say "brilliant" would truly be an understatement. Guy Garvey's vocals, and banter with the gathered masses was just 100% spot on. One of the most civilised gigs I have ever attended too - no sign of beer (or worse) being thrown, no moshing or bundling - just pure great music. A treat for the ears.

A friend of mine tweeted today that she'd been listening to Elbow's new album on the way to work, and one of the tracks brought a lump to her throat (can't remember the title). Must admit they're a band who have largely passed me by to date, although their 'big' hit always brings a smile to my face. But with the talk on here about them, and Deevs and Tortie going to see them, plus Simon's recommendation of the album, and now my friend - I think I'd better give them a try!
