#19 Talking of Dawn, did anyone see that Johnny Cash Christmas special from years ago that was on one of the channels over Christmas?



Tony Orlando was the guest and it was a "Johnny invites Tony to visit chez Cash to see where he lives and the surrounding area, with an excuse for some songs along the way" kind of set, with some horrible scripted conversation between the two of them and Mrs Cash.



I don't think I've ever seen anything quite so vomit-inducing in years. I like Johnny Cash, but put American TV of that era in charge of a TV Christmas special and you end up with unwatchabe sugary mush. Yuk. I dont think any of Val Doonican's Christmas specials ever descended to quite such depths.

I love Friday shows, I really enjoy listening to everyone telling their tales of where they are heading for the weekend.

Triple hurrah!! I asked my manager if I could take the afternoon off and he said yes (saves him money!). So, I am out of here at 1pm, off home to pack up, cuddle cats, gather up Mr P and get him to drive us both to the bolthole for a weekend of house viewing (2 to see tomorrow), woodburner and no doubt visits to our local. Love my boss!



So, I had better get cracking and do some value-added work this morning.

#48 Happy birthday Alice Cooper! Would rather hear POISON than School's Out!

I think it's a real pity the 7 inch single didn't die out the instant the LP was invented. Think how much more more variety there would be in the music on day time radio.



I have around 1100+ CDs, a couple of hundred vinyl albums (pruned a bit after replacement on CD of most loved material) and no more than about a dozen 7 inch singles and maybe the same number of 12 inch singles bought on the odd occasions when I fell victim to the selling trick of leaving a song off the album and putting it on the 12 inch single as a bonus song.



Could just never see the point of singles - why put something on the machine that needs to be changed again a few minutes later?

Yes Alex, much better, altho Schools out would be more befitting for a Friday, even if some of us are bunking off earlier than others ;)

PSL - The GBs and I are at a 50th birthday party tomorrow evening and the entertainment is a Tamla Mowtown group - I can't wait - I've got my dancing shoes looked out and dusted off. The elderGB isn't overly enthusiastic but I hope to be able to report back on Sunday that we've managed to convert him.
