Me too MTF - it was tongue in cheek! Has anyone ever questioned that line in Elton's "Your Song" that goes "I'm not one of those who can easily hide"? As a young man, it never occurred to me to compare myself with other people based on how well I/they could/could not hide! "I'm not one of those who can easily get a girlfriend" maybe, or "I'm not one of those who can easily get into the football team". But hiding?



Just a thought - prompted by someone's selection above!

Really enjoyed "Act Your Age" and I agree that Dave Sparkey was the star - he had me crying with laughter a couple of times. However, my favourite joke was Sean Walsh talking about cooking and ovens.



"Why has an oven got a window? If you want to see what's going on inside, you open the door. The appliance that needs a window is a fridge. 'Have I got milk?' Glance around, 'yes, I have'".



Superb!



Tired this morning though - didn't get home till 11pm and by the time I had calmed down enough to go to bed, it felt like only minutes till getting up time!

I, on the other hand, will suggest Summer Song by JAMES. This was written by Tim Booth about the birth of his first child and is one of their oldest and best. I heartily recommend it.

Speaking of rubbishy lyrics one of my favourites is by Thin Lizzy (and this is highlighted by a comedian whose name I've forgotten). From Jailbreak:

I've already Tweeted my choice - Here is my song for the asking (S&G) - but wanted to support your support for 10CC. I'd rank their lyric writing with Peter Gabriel (Genesis days) and Paul Simon as among the wittiest we've ever had.



My finest memory of seeing them live was an open air all-day gig at Cardiff Castle around the time that "I'm Not in Love" was Number 1. They topped the bill and finished with "I'm not ..." around midnight. The castle keep was wreathed in red, blue and green spotlights - stunning.
