Just a small point re ARF guys - it's great that you are getting behind MTF and requesting ELO (and I'm sure she appreciates it!) but I really don't think putting pressure on Simon is the way to get him to play a particular track. Remember the 50th show, those of us who were around then? We made a big thing of it here on the blog and it went completely unnoticed on the show.

#25 On the subject of booking guests for Simon's show, some of you know I'm a big Level 42 fan. They are doing a 30th anniversary tour this year, and it strikes me that would be a really good excuse for Simon to interview them (and maybe even get them to do something for the Great British Songbook). Anyone got any suggestions of the best (ie most effective) way for me to contact the show to suggest it?

Strange - I've been coming in here on and off since the beginning - and was lucky enough to have my blog request chosen the second week of ARF under the new regime. Maybe I was away somewhere. Heavens to Murgatroyd - I'm becoming increasingly concerned about my poor memory!



What are everybody's weekend plans? I've got 2 days of charity stalls coming up - Saturday we're running a BBQ at a school science fair, and Sunday we're at a disabled school 'Funfest' in north Hampshire, responsible for the 'squirt the rubber duck off the shelf with a water pistol' stall.





When I say 'we', I am referring to Loddon Valley Lions, the branch of Lions Clubs International local to my part of northern Hampshire.

#89 KatyMac, I share you concerns. But in my experience you get a gut feel for people. Most of the online pals I've met have turned out to be as lovely in real life as they are in 2D land. Totally mad, mind (but then they have all been Top Gear fans). It's good sense to be cautious though.

I shall be in the Chichester area next weekend for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. That is going to be a FUN weekend!



I can understand your concerns Katy - to be honest, I had some too in the beginning, but people seem so lovely.

#95 Good, sensible call Deebo. I too have concerns about meeting people I don't "actually" know. KM - I think Deebs is right. Top Gear is wheely good (see what I did there, etc.)

I'm also actually quite shy in real life (which is one of the reasons why I can't pluck up the courage to phone for an ARF) and I find it helps if you've already "met" someone online - you kind of feel you already know them, which helps to break the ice.
