Steady on there Nic! (secretly agrees but hides behind settee....) A more "out there" suggestion (whaddya expect dahlings!) is "The Man Who Sailed Around His Soul" by XTC. The only song I know with the line "and the jellyfish stings..." in it and it's veritably tambourinacious.

Nic your suggestion (the birdie song) reminds me of the time a few years ago when I was on hols in Madeira. Me and the OH got chatting to the piano player in the hotel lounge and it turns out that he actually wrote the song but didn't think it was that good so sold it for peanuts. It then went on to be the 'major' hit that it was and he would have been able to retire on the proceeds. As our mutual friend would say 100% true!!!



Back to today's task - what about, My Mean Tambourine (I forget who sang it).

Good morning boys and girls! Basking in the glory of a ment yesterday I have decided not to push my luck and make any suggestion today. The tambourine after all is not a terribly exciting instrument unless played by somebody like Pete Townshend by which time it would be shredded!! Mind you still better than bagpipes!!

Oooooops - just g**gled it - I meant to say, please Mr Mayo Sir, please can you play My Green Tambourine by Status Quo. Ta very muchly.

Ken - This blog is post moderated, which means moderators can initiate the moderation themselves, whereas on Chris Evans' blog, it takes someone to complain to them before they can act. I got moderated for using an abbreviation containing a naughty word.

Just received my ticking off email. The ironic thing is that I don't know whether it was the abbreviated term in the paragraph about Chester Thompson, or whether someone thought the letter at the end of the Brand X song title was me abbreviating a song title with the full word in it (it was't). Or whether it was someone offended at the idea that PC was out of practice (I doubt even he would deny it).



Oh well, such is the lot of posters on modded forums.

This actually seems an extremely civilised forum to my eyes. I haven't seen anything I would think needed modding if you consider the intention of what's written, but I guess we all have different thresholds as to what's offensive and what isn't.

Sooooo, has CLP's team just forgotten that he's now doing The Breakfast Show (which I also love, btw) and haven't amended the type of moderation? I wonder what Sarah (welcome, blogpoppet) has to say? KenJude, I agree. We -some of us - may be a tad on the silly side - but I feel everyone comes across as jolly well-intention, well-educated and kind peeps.

The CLP blog got more "chatty" with the introduction of Blog Meets, mainly because we all know each other "for real" rather than just on-line cyber buddies.



Blog Meets are amazing fun, and I can only recommend them with the highest authority (nowt to do with me having organised more of them....!)



Next one is in London, last weekend of February if anyone's interested (or brave enuff!)
