An Eagle in the studio.
If I set out now I might make it in for Drive at 5. School run was indeed abandoned so joy for youngest child who will doubtless be throwing ice and snow down my neck before I finish this post. Attendance in the studio is compulsory as Timothy B Schmit from The Eagles is playing live in the studio after 6. This a very rare thing indeed so treasure the moment. His album "Expando" is full of the sort of harmonies you would expect. Featured voices include Dwight Yoakam, Kid Rock and Graham Nash. He'll perform a track from the album live and has a very original idea for The Great British Songbook.
Also tonight's opening record terms and conditions. Big noisy hit of course and with a Saxophone featured prominently please. Easy today huh?

Looking forward to hearing The Eagle tonight.
I heard Pontune last night - good quiz!
Opening record - there's a Roxy Music one with lots of sax in it, but I can't remember the name, 'cos all I've got going round my head at the moment is the Curtis Stigers record ("Hold On"?), but I don't think that's noisy enough.

I'd vote for Geno by Dexy's Midnight Runners, for all those wishing they were still Young Soul Rebels. And it's better than Come On Eileen ...

If it's a So Solid Crew-type outfit then there's no competition.

How about starting off tonight with a fairly feisty little number which came out in '76 - Bryan Ferry's LET'S STICK TOGETHER (sorry for shouting, but it's so good)
It really gets you going!!

When I heard you fill in for Johnnie Walker a while ago, I text you to say how great it was to hear you on radio again (sorry - not heard you much on 5 Live..)and that it was like an old friend returning. Used to listen to you every single morning on the Breakfast Show when I was at home with my young children.
So fantastic to hear your mellow tones again, just what we need at that time of day, going home stressed from work. How about bringing back Dead or Alive - always made me laugh out loud every morning ..("Dead, Dead, definitely dead..")Knew you would arrive with no fanfare - far best that way.
Hope this is the start of a longterm relationship and how about Simply Red - Money's Too Tight to Mention - that has a great Sax in it.
