Tonight, the Isles will be breezy with light showers and variable cloud. The mainland will be colder and dry with patchy cloud towards the west but clear skies further east.

Wednesday

Isolated showers tomorrow morning, mainly on the Isles; a brighter start on the mainland. It will become cloudy by the afternoon with showery rain and hill snow on the mainland by the late evening.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday

Breezy and cloudy on Thursday morning with a few showers on the Isles. Skies later clearing for Orkney and Shetland as well as mainland coasts. A risk of heavy rain and strong winds on the east mainland and Isles on Friday morning. This risk diminishes later with variable cloud and the odd shower, wintry on the hills. Overcast on the mainland on Saturday, bright on the Isles.
