This morning will see heavy rain and strong winds, with snow over the hills on the mainland, and lower levels at times too. Patchy rain for all in the afternoon. A milder day.

Tonight

Tonight will start cloudy and wet for all. The rain will clear the mainland soon after, and later in the night, the Isles, but a few isolated showers will linger. Windy, and very windy in Shetland.

Monday

Tomorrow, the mainland will see variable cloud and some showers edge in from the west. The Isles will cloud over from the west, with outbreaks of rain. Windy, though not as much as in previous hours.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday

On the mainland: A largely dry day on Tuesday, with variable cloud. Staying dry on Wednesday, with bright spells, especially in the morning. Rain and will snow overnight into Thursday morning, but drier later. On the Isles: Turning mostly dry on Tuesday morning before showers move in by evening. Largely dry with variable cloud on Wednesday but rain is likely on Thursday.
