Warning services for areas at risk of flooding are provided for England, Wales and Scotland. BBC Weather works closely with its partners to raise awareness of weather events affecting Northern Ireland. Specific flood warnings, however, are not currently issued for Northern Ireland.

    Groundwater levels are high but slowly declining at our Farringdon borehole near Alton, therefore flooding of low-lying areas and roads continues to be possible. Due to the nature of groundwater flooding, this situation could continue for several weeks or longer. We are closely monitoring rainfall and groundwater levels. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Take particular care when driving through flood water both for your own safety and to prevent flooding to others.     Continued high groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding of low-lying areas and roads is possible. Groundwater levels are now at the point where properties may be impacted. Groundwater levels are falling very gradually at our Hodcot borehole affecting West Ilsley, East Ilsley, Compton, Chilton and West Hagbourne. The groundwater level remains higher than normal for this time of year. Due to the nature of groundwater flooding, this situation could continue for several weeks or longer. Residents are advised to consider property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed.     Continued high groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding of low-lying areas and roads is possible. Groundwater levels are now falling very gradually at our Northfield Farm borehole in the Great Shefford area. We expect levels to remain high over the next few weeks and levels will remain sensitive to further sustained rainfall. Due to the nature of groundwater flooding, this situation could continue for several weeks or longer. We are closely monitoring rainfall and groundwater levels. Residents are advised to consider property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. We expect levels to fall over the next few weeks in response to a forecasted period of more settled weather. Due to the nature of groundwater flooding, this situation could continue for several weeks or longer. We are closely monitoring rainfall and groundwater levels. Residents are advised to consider property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed.     Groundwater levels in the Salisbury Plain area are still slowly dropping but remain high and over the Flood Alert thresholds. Flooding of fields and roads is still possible. Groundwater levels remain responsive to further rainfall. Where groundwater is near the surface, intense rainfall will lead to surface water flooding. We are closely monitoring the situation. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed.     A Groundwater Flood Alert remains in place for the West of Dorset. Levels are still slowly dropping but remain high and are over the Flood Alert thresholds. The Groundwater level at Kingston Russell was 114.28 metres earlier this morning, 6th April 2026, and property flooding is possible when it goes above 116.00 metres. Flooding of fields and roads is still possible. Groundwater levels remain responsive to further rainfall. Where groundwater is near the surface, intense rainfall will lead to surface water flooding. We are closely monitoring the situation. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed.     Areas affected:Groundwater flooding in East Kent

    High groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible to low lying land, roads and properties with basements around the following areas: Petham Bourne, Alkham bourne and Nailbourne including Alkham, Temple Ewell, Elham, Barham, Bishopsbourne, Bridge, Patrixbourne and Bekesbourne. Groundwater levels in East Kent rose significantly following significant rainfall during January and early February. The Nailbourne continues to flow. During March, weather conditions became noticeably drier and groundwater levels are now generally falling. We are monitoring the situation and continue to liaise closely with our partners who have also been responding. Please avoid walking or driving through flood water and keep up to date with groundwater levels on the 'Check for Flooding' site on gov.uk. Riparian owners are reminded to check and clear any blockages and debris from the rivers. This message will be updated by 4:00PM on 10 April 2026 or as the situation changes.
