    High tides are expected to cause flooding on Friday. Flooding is expected for 2 hours either side of Friday's early morning tide at 03:00 on 09/01/2026. Storm Goretti increases tide table values by 0.83 m. Total forecast tide is 6.29 metres Chart Datum (3.24 mAOD) at Littlehampton. Gale Force 8 North Westerly wind. Waves will overtop the sea front. Water will flow westwards along Mill Lane and Climping Street (from the right of the East car park) ponding in Climping Street Car Park, near to properties, and in nearby land and fields. Friday's tide at 15:15 09/01/2026 is forecast to be 102 cm lower (2.22 mAOD). Subsequent tides will continue to fall. Provided the beach is still in good condition following Storm Goretti, flood risk should reduce. We are closely monitoring the situation . We routinely check the condition of the beach at Climping.     High tides are expected to cause flooding this evening. Flooding is expected two hours either side of high tide, high tide expected 10:24PM. Areas most at risk include The Sea Life Centre and the Preston Beach Road area of Lodmoor. Strong winds as part of Storm Goretti are expected to impact this evening's tides. The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level of 1.81 mAODN at 10:24PM, with force 8 north-westerly winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.). After the high tide this evening, the weather is more settled. We are closely monitoring the situation . Activate any flood protection products you may have and avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded.     High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding this evening. Flooding is expected from 6:00pm on Thursday 8th January to 2:45am on Friday 9th January 2026. Areas most at risk include A354 Chiswell, Brandy Row, Pebble Lane, Victoria Square up to the junction with Queens Road, the car parks along the A354 and the yard along Lerret Road. A 0.95m surge and large waves will increase water levels considerably higher than expected this evening. We are expecting a high total water level (including waves) of 8.5mAODN at 9:15pm. For information the high tide is at 10:21pm with North westerly Force 8 winds (mAODN is height above average sea level). We are closely monitoring the situation .and checking flood defences at the beach. Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .     High tides are expected to cause flooding on Friday. Flooding is expected for 2 hours either side of Friday's early morning tide at 03:00 on 09/01/2026.. Storm Goretti increases tide table values by 0.82 m. Total forecast tide is 5.27 metres Chart Datum (2.54 mAOD) at Portsmouth with strong North Westerly Force 7 wind. South Hayling beach (towards Eastoke) is low. Water could push further up the beach than normal. Property at Eastoke corner, near the nature reserve, and at Southwood Road may flood. Overtopping of splash walls along the beach front may flood gardens. Beach huts at West Beach, near the Inn on the beach may also be affected. Friday's tide at 15:15 09/01/2026 is forecast to be 95 cm lower (1.57 mAOD). We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities . Activate any flood protection products you may have .     High tides are expected to cause flooding on Friday. Flooding is expected for 2 hours either side of Friday's early morning tide at 02:30 on 09/01/2026 Storm Goretti increases tide table values by 0.91 m. The total forecast tide is 7.57 metres Chart Datum (3.92 mAOD) at Eastbourne. Severe Gale Force 9 Westerly wind. A small number of beach top properties from Sovereign Harbour to Cooden Beach, including (but not exclusively) the Parade and Promenade, Pevensey Bay, Beachlands, Normans Bay and Herbrand Walk could be flooded. Coastal roads may be affected by water, shingle and other debris. Friday's tide at 14:45 09/01/2026 is forecast to be 106 cm lower (2.86 mAOD). Provided the beach is still in good condition, flood risk should reduce. We are checking flood defences at low tide we will check and maintain the condition of Pevensey beach.     High groundwater levels are still expected to cause flooding. Flooding is still expected from 6th January 2026 onwards. Groundwater levels in West Dorset remain high. Areas that could be affected include: Winterbourne Abbas, Winterbourne Steepleton, Martinstown, Winterbourne Monkton, Winterbourne Herringston and Winterbourne Came. The groundwater level at the Kingston Russell borehole has fallen to 116.68m, and is expected to fall further over the next few days. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. Flooding of roads is expected. Roads may be damaged by floodwater. Any intense rainfall will lead to surface water flooding. We are closely monitoring the situation. If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on.     High tides, strong winds and large waves today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from 7:00pm on Thursday 8th January to approximately 8:00am on Friday 9th January. Areas most at risk include Castletown, Weymouth, Preston Beach, Swanage Bay, Studland Bay, Sandbanks, Poole Harbour, Bournemouth Beach, Hengistbury Head and Christchurch Harbour. In Swanage there may be a risk to the lower end of High Street road by the Pier Head so avoid parking vehicles in this area due to wave overtopping and flying debris. A 1m surge will increase water levels considerably higher than expected for this evening and into the early hours of the morning and will apply to the low and high tides.
