This afternoon will see variable cloud, some sunny spells, and just the odd shower to start. Later on, cloud will thicken from the west as more showers develop, mainly for the mainland.

Tonight, cloud and showers will ease on the mainland to leave clear spells. Staying predominantly cloudy on the Isles with light rain at times.
Saturday
Mainly cloudy tomorrow with showers and longer spells of rain on the mainland. A chance of local thunder in Perth and Angus. Cloudy on the Isles with light rain for Orkney for a time. Much cooler.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday
Mist and fog on Sunday morning, this breaking to low cloud and brief sunny breaks later. One or two light showers are possible over the Isles. Variable cloud on Monday, with some patches of rain on the Isles, and later the mainland. Tuesday will see further sunny spells and variable cloud, along with a few isolated showers in spots.
