| Tuesday, 18 February, 2003, 11:29 GMT Slade marks players' cards Scarborough manager Russell Slade has warned some of his players that their futures at the club are on the line. The three-times FA Trophy winners crashed out of the competition in a fourth-round replay at Dr Martens League side Dover on Monday night. It was a result that stretched the Seasiders' winless streak to six games.
A run of four league defeats has severely hit their Nationwide Conference play-off hopes and Slade is losing patience with some of his current squad. Slade said: "Some of our players bottled it. "A lot of those players were playing for contracts for next season but not many will get one with performances like that. "I desperately want to get players in and when those players come in, some of those who were at Dover won't be playing again." Meanwhile, Scarborough have served 14-days notice to terminate striker Karl Rose's contract. The 24-year-old former Barnsley player was jailed for four months for two offences of having sex with a girl under 16 years of age. |
