Nuneaton 1-3 Dagenham

Dagenham continued their surge towards the play-off spots when late goals from Danny Shipp and Junior McDougald gave them their sixth consecutive league victory against lowly Nuneaton.

The Daggers were on their way when new loan signing Steve Watts gave them a 19th-minute lead.

And though Eliott Paschalis dragged the home side level after 38 minutes, Shipp and McDougald settled it in the last five minutes.

Leyton Orient striker Watts, who claimed he was "the best finisher at the club" before leaving Brisbane Road to join Dagenham for a month this week, was an instant hit.

After the visitors had showed their teeth early on, with McDougald lifting his effort over the bar, Watts struck a shot into the net from Ashley Vickers' near-post corner.

Nuneaton - without a win since early December - had to weather a storm before they shocked Dagenham with an equaliser, Paschalis hitting a right-foot shot into the net after a cross from Mark Quayle.

They looked to be holding on in the second half, without threatenening to win themselves, until Shipp grabbed the second after Nuneaton failed to clear a corner, and McDougald finished it in stoppage time with a left-foot shot.

Nuneaton: Davis, Thackeray, Dyson, Angus, Love, Doyle, Barry Williams, Lavery, Paschalis, Quayle, Alford. Subs: Wheeler, Browne, Daniel Williams, Peake, Turner.

Dag & Red: Roberts, Heffer, Matthews, Vickers, Watts, Terry, Shipp, McGrath, Mustafa, Stein, McDougald. Subs: Potts, Rooney, Hill, Gothard, West.

Referee: N Bannister (Goole).
