Vagabonds crash to heavy defeat at Wigan

Rugby Union

Travel delays severely disrupted Vagabonds as they were thrashed 69-0 at Wigan in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One on Saturday.

The defeat sees the Manx side slip to 12th, just four points above the relegation zone.

In Division Two, Douglas went down 15-10 at home to Southport, who have moved above them in the table.

The visitors led 8-0 at half-time and despite a second-half fight-back Douglas were unable save the game.

Meanwhile, Ramsey thrashed Linley 53-7 at Mooragh Park to go four points clear in Division Three.

Elsewhere, the newly crowned Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield champions Southern Nomads lost their unbeaten record when they went down 12-7 at home to second placed Douglas B.

There were also victories for Vagabonds B and Castletown.
