Nobody likes losing and our squad are no exception. We have suffered our first defeat this year and in fairness, Plymouth Albion deserved their victory. It was a physical game and the intensity was typical of a derby. Although we did not gain the result we wanted, we have put things into perspective for this week coming and our long-term goals have not changed at all. This result changes nothing and we still need to make the top eight in the league. The squad are still focused and are even more determined for the Bristol game on Sunday. But the injury list is starting to mount up and the medical team are working all hours to get the squad patched up. Injuries are no excuse, especially with the quality of the squad however it is not ideal to train with only 22 fit players. As a whole the players and coaching staff are not panicking at the lack of fit players, or last week's result. I am hoping to be fit for training very soon as the rehab is going well. It has been very frustrating but I have kept fit and I'm excited to get back into the mix. This week's game is going to be a huge game, a large crowd is expected and a good atmosphere guaranteed as we welcome Bristol to Cornwall. Having been beaten last week both sides will be out to turn things back round quickly. If we raise our level of performance and correct the things we have been discussing all week then I am confident of a good result. We need to keep the momentum from the good start we have made and progress in the Championship. A win against Bristol will really send a message to the league that we are serious competitors.
