Cornish Pirates scrum-half

"Rugby players are either piano shifters or piano movers - fortunately the Cornish pirates can play a tune."

It is extremely exciting to be part of a squad with this level of ambition and commitment to playing rugby.

In a league dominated by one out runners and 10 man rugby, I believe we are playing a brand of rugby which is entertaining and most importantly, successful.

Last Sunday saw an emphatic win over Moseley at home.

A blistering first half performance left the Cornish fans with sore throats. The atmosphere was electric around the ground and I know the support is valued by the players.

We're only two games in and having scored 11 tries and 81 points there is real excitement around the county about the Championship.

But as a squad we are firmly focused on our next game, and only our next game.

With the tremendous away support we have, the squad are confident of success.

As for the injured boys its more cycling and sprints as well as one handed weights for a treat.

Last weeks flattery of Simon Raynes [fitness coach] didn't receive the desired effect, I was hoping for some favouritism but I think he hates me more than ever, well it feels that way.

Doncaster on Friday night will provide a very different test to the first two games.

Not only because of their style of play, but because of the evening kick off.

It is a different challenge in timing when we eat and getting enough rest without being lethargic, but with the experience of the squad we have, the professionalism of the coaches and the players, I'm sure that nothing will be left to chance.
