Cornish Pirates came back from 10-9 down at half-time to open their Championship season with victory over Nottingham at Meadow Lane on Sunday.

Despite three Johnny Bentley penalties, the Pirates trailed at the break to winger Jack Cobden's early converted try and a David Jackson penalty.

Blair Cowan's try gave the visitors the lead for the first time.

He then went over for a second try, with Bentley adding the conversion and fourth penalty to see the Pirates home.
