Cornish Pirates have named returning scrum-half Gavin Cattle as their captain for the forthcoming season in the newly-formed Championship. Cattle left the Pirates in 2007 to join Llanelli Scarlets but made the move back to Cornwall earlier this summer. The 29-year-old also captained the Pirates during his previous spell with the club, leading them to victory in the National Trophy in 2007. The Welshman has also played for Rotherham and Orrell. Pirates have also announced three vice-captains will aid Cattle next term. Flankers Chris Morgan and Blair Cowan will be joined by lock Ben Gulliver in the role.
