Jackson is renowned for his pace and ability on the ball

Cornish Pirates have bolstered their squad with the signing of South African back Nick Jackson.

Jackson, 22, who plays at centre is a former member of the Shimlas club and has also had spells at both Griffons and Natal Sharks.

The Pirates hope that Jackson will replace centre Paul Devlin, who will be out injured for several months.

The South African is a powerful centre with the ability to break defensive lines and score tries.

Jackson was a shining star for Free State junior sides, but injuries hampered his progress, although he is now fully recovered.
