Coach Paul March has also agreed new terms for 2009 |
York City Knights have secured another player in their current squad for a further season. John Oakes, 20, who can play as a winger or centre, has signed a new one-year contract which will take him into a second season with the club. He said: "I'm delighted to have signed a new deal. The Knights gave me the chance to play first-team football and I hope I've repaid their faith. "I'm hoping we can finish the season strongly and build for next season." Oakes has missed only one game this season since joining from Dewsbury Rams and he has scored eight tries. Coach Paul March said: "Since arriving at the club John has improved 100% and is a key member of my squad and he is always looking to improve. "He's a pleasure to coach and hardly ever misses a training session and with more experience in National League, John will go on to bigger and better things."
