The Knights have scored 20 tries in their last two games |
York City Knights assistant coach James Ratcliffe hailed their 56-18 League Two win at Workington as "a great result." The result, and last week's 62-6 win over Blackpool, has given the Knights an eight point cushion in the top six. Ratcliffe told BBC Radio York: "We worked very hard, it's not an easy place to come and get three points." The Knights three recent signings, Australian-born Tom Haberecht, former Keighley player Adam Mitchell and loan player Dave Clayton, made a big impact. "Tom came in on Friday evening," added Ratcliffe, "it's his first win in England since he's been here (he was at Castleford before) so he's very happy with that. Adam Mitchell's fitted in very well and Dave Clayton looks like he's been here all season." | We've got every possibility of going places if we want to do it |
The only downside was an injury to Danny Ekis. He was dropped from a great height during a tackle in what sounds like a very painful incident. "He may have torn his abductor muscle might Danny, he's been struggling the last couple of weeks with it. His legs have been parted, someone's been trying to pull him one way and someone pulling the other," added Ratcliffe. The Knights have hit top form but Ratcliffe warned: "We've only won two games, we can't get carried away. What we have shown is that we are capable of putting two good performances together. "We've said get the results and the League will look after itself." Next up is a home game on Sunday against Swinton who are just below Workington in the table. "We go into next week now in a confident mood. we've got every possibility of going places if we want to do it," he concluded.
