The Knights have scored 20 tries in their last two games |
York City Knights prop Adam Sullivan has signed a new one-year contract which will commit him to the League Two club until the end of the 2009 season. Sullivan joined the Knights from Hull KR in 2004, having previously played for East Hull and Bradford Bulls. The forward rejoined the Knights in May after spending the winter playing for Lyon Rugby in France. "It's a massive step for the club securing Adam for next year," Knights coach Paul March told BBC Radio York. "He's been superb, he's been the pack leader. Now we've got his signature I'm sure a lot will follow." March also felt that the Rugby Football League's decision to promote three teams from League Two is right. "I felt it would've been wrong if they'd said to have two up and keep whoever comes bottom of National League One in there," said March. "This way it gives everybody from third to eighth something to play for in the remaining games." | We're hitting some consistency now, I believe that the most consistent side will go through the play-offs |
It also means that the Knights will have a home tie in the play-offs if they finish fourth or fifth, and it means that Sunday's opponents Swinton, who are ninth, suddenly have something to play for. "Everybody down to eighth, even Hunslet down in tenth, they could still get in there, and then it's one-off games," March added. The Knights go into Sunday's game on the back of last Sunday's 56-18 win at Workington and the previous week's 62-6 win over Blackpool. March added: "We're hitting some consistency now, I believe that the most consistent side will go through the play-offs."
