Harrogate Town have signed right-back Aaron Hardy for the forthcoming Blue Square North season.
The 22-year-old joined the club after impressing in the friendly against Leeds United.
Town manager Neil Aspin told BBC Radio York: "He was at Huddersfield. He played for Farsley for half a game against Grimsby and I went to that.
"He's played a full game for us and I wanted to sign him because I think he's a good player."
Hardy can also play in a defensive midfield role although he plays predominantly at right-back.
Aspin said versatility like that in his squad will be important this season.
"Obviously the chairman takes credit because he's enabled me to sign some good players.
"We're never going to have a massive squad but you don't need one.
"You need a competitive squad - you need a couple of players who can play in a few different positions.
"I don't want people sitting on a Saturday not doing anything so to have probably 15 or 16 players is ideal.
"Its just a case of a bit of luck keeping them fit and we'll go with it."
