Mid Antrim rule out circuit date

The Mid Antrim club has decided not to host a short circuit motorcycle meeting at Nutts Corner on Saturday 2 August.

The club had considered organising a race at the County Antrim circuit for the day that the Mid Antrim 150 road races are usually held.

The road race is not taking place this year but organisers remain confident that it will return in 2009.

The club are hopeful that a circuit race will be held at Nutts Corner next year, possibly early in the season.

Nutts Corner has not hosted a short circuit motorcycle event for five years but was previously a popular venue.

In particular, the 'King of the Corner' meeting was a regular feature of the local race scene for many years.
