Nutts Corner set to host racing

Motorcycle racing is set to return to the Nutts Corner circuit this summer.

The Mid Antrim club are likely to host a short circuit event at the course on Saturday 2 August, the date which had been earmarked for the Mid Antrim 150.

The Mid Antrim road race is not taking place this year but organisers are confident it will return to the racing calendar in 2009.

Nutts Corner has not hosted a short circuit motorcycle event for five years but was previously a popular venue.

In particular, the 'King of the Corner' meeting was a regular feature of the local race scene for many years.
