Premier League newcomers at Spurs
The Juande Ramos revolution is well and truly under way and the Spaniard has cast his net across Europe as he seeks to make Tottenham contenders for a Champions League spot.
There are some exciting signings too, none more so than fiery Mexican forward Giovani dos Santos, 19. Bought for an initial 4.7m from Barcelona, Dos Santos is a Lionel Messi clone - all left foot, likes to cut in off the flanks and can finish too.
"If he continues to progress as we hope he will become an even more magnificent player than he is now," purred boss Ramos.
Dos Santos will enjoy being teed-up by Luka Modric, who signed back in May. The 16.5m 22-year-old Croatian midfielder has a cultured right foot with which he will attempt to prise open defences.
Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, 27, joined for about 7m from PSV, signalling the end of Paul Robinson's Spurs career. The Brazilian is best known for his stunning reflexes and enormously long throw-ins. Some even reckon he's the best keeper in the world. And that's saying quite a lot.
