Premier League newcomers - the others
As usual, a host of hitherto unknown players have arrived in England for a crack at what is undoubtedly the highest-profile league in the world.
Wigan tied up the signing on a year's loan deal of Egyptian striker Amr Zaki, 25, from Zamalek. "I've come to England to score goals. That's what I do," he announced.
Fulham have signed a plethora of players this summer, including Euro 2008's Fredrik Stoor, a reliable right-back from Sweden and David Stockdale, a highly-rated 22-year-old goalkeeper from Darlington, who kept 20 clean sheets last season.
Stoke have swooped for Wolves' Nigerian international midfielder Seyi Olofinjana for 3m as they plot Premier League survival. "It is a terrific signing for Stoke," said Wolves boss Mick McCarthy.
Hull have been busy too, breaking their transfer record to sign Hungarian winger Peter Halmosi for 2m from Plymouth.
Sunderland have bolstered their squad too, with plenty of players with Premier League experience and David Mayler, a 19-year-old midfielder from Cork City. "I'm here to succeed, I'm not here to fail," he proclaimed upon his arrival.
