Premier League newcomers at Liverpool
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez splashed the cash to sign 20m Robbie Keane, but with Gareth Barry still waiting for his dream move the spotlight has fallen on some lesser known arrivals.
Swiss right-back Philipp Degen, 25, has joined on a free and the unused substitute in Euro 2008 will compete with Steve Finnan for a defensive slot.
Italian left-back Andrea Dossena, 26, comes in for the departed John Arne Riise and will be looking to add to his one international cap.
Brazilian Diego Cavalieri, 25, will provide a challenge to Pepe Reina for the keeper's jersey. "He reminds me of a Brazilian Paul Robinson," says our South American correspondent Tim Vickery worryingly.
Last but not least, 19-year-old French striker David Ngog will be hoping to improve on his tally of one goal in 18 games for Paris St Germain last term.
His cousin is calamitous former Newcastle centre-back Jean-Alain Boumsong, now with Lyon. Nuff said.
